There are different stages to every relationship and it certainly is the same with Ukraine singles. There’s the courting stage where you go on casual dates and get to know each other better. There’s the romantic stage where you go on more romantic dates and your relationship becomes more intimate. And, after that, wedding bells, right? Nope. Before that happens, you’re going to have to go through the “meet my parents and possibly my entire family” stage, before you can even make plans for the wedding, especially with Ukrainian singles.
Most Europeans have very close family ties so sooner or later you’re going to have to meet the folks, along with everyone else in the family, if you’re in a serious relationship. This is especially true when you’re dating a Ukrainian woman. This will be the family that you’re going to marry into so it’s kind of a big deal and, of course, you have to put your best foot forward.
It does sound a bit stressful, especially if you’re a foreigner but don’t worry because here are a few tips for you to consider before meeting the love of your life’s parents.
Tip #1: Your appearance will matter
When you date single Ukrainian women, you probably already know that they like men who are appropriately casual, but still have a degree of style to their outfits. The same goes with the parents. Although they may not be alarmed when you pair spots and stripes in one outfit, what they will be more concerned of is if you’re a “fit” enough man for their daughter to have in her life. Just make sure that you portray this with your image and appearance. Dress appropriately, shave, get a haircut, etc.
Tip #2: Uphold the tradition of bringing something
In Ukraine, it’s customary to bring a gift (or gifts). One great gift would be a fancy bouquet of flowers for the mother to win her over. It’s a nice gesture and you’d have to admit that any woman would appreciate a bouquet of flowers any day of the week.
Another great gift that you can bring is wine or liquor. Her father will appreciate this manly gesture and he might even invite you to partake of it after dinner (don’t worry, you’re probably not going to finish it in one sitting).
Tip #3: Your daughter is the best!
Any parent would be flattered if you let them know how well they raised their children. It’s the same thing when meeting your bride’s parents. Pay their daughter compliments and let them know why you fell for her. This shows that you know their daughter well enough and that your interest in her is genuine.
Tip #4: Sprinkle your charm
Don’t worry if you don’t have charm because all you have to do to be charming is to be interested in other people. That’s it! Before, during and after the dinner, you have to be proactive. Don’t be quiet, instead, offer to help, ask questions, pay compliments, pay attention, interact and so forth. Everyone will love you for it!
